"Peoples opinion about environment friendly vehicles"
For the environment friendly vehicles the popular belief that has been set is that it saves the fuel which is considered to be the non-renewable energy source. Similarly the degradation to the environment caused by the use of fuels is also reduced with the use of environment friendly vehicles such as electric cars, equipments used through solar energy, bicycles and so on. Also in today’s perspective the popular belief is that people using those kinds of vehicles are termed rational because they think about their future generations who are yet to use the non renewable energy for significant purposes.
The myth surrounding the environment friendly vehicles is these vehicles exert more energy from the people using them. This means that compared to those vehicles running under fossil fuels more energy and time needs to be applied while using environment friendly vehicles. Similarly criticism comes for these vehicles just because of the myths that surround it as environment friendly vehicles don’t come in different styles and are not too much attractive while the efficiency is not looked upon at all.
Icon for the environment friendly vehicle would be Toyota Prius which is a hybrid car. The main reason to choose this car as an icon is it’s the first hybrid car that runs either on batteries or bio gases. Popular culture and myths that surrounds the environment friendly vehicles is considered appropriate. More and more people are getting cautious about the damages caused by the excessive use of fossil fuels by the normal cars hence the people get more attracted towards the environment friendly vehicles in terms of popular belief but while talking about the myths that surrounds these vehicles we tend to look at the drawbacks of these vehicles which discourages use of it in comparison to the vehicles running under non renewable fuels. The insights that we derive from this beliefs and myths is that people focus more on popular beliefs than on myths as myths are not always correct because if we cannot go long distance on the energy saving vehicles we can always use the public vehicles.

Icon Analysis


As contemporary Icons I have chosen these three great personalities
1.                  Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi is a professional soccer player; his real name is Luis Lionel Andres Messi. He was born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina. Messi, has height of only 5-foot 7-inches as he suffered from hormone deficiency that restricted his growth. Yet, he is the most highly paid footballer today.
2.                  Eminem

Eminem real name is 
Marshall Bruce Mathers III. He is the world famous American rapper, song writer, producer and actor as well. He has been titled as “The king of the Hip Hop” Rolling stone magazine too.
3.                  Anuradha Koirala

Anuradha Koirala from Nepal is the CNN Hero of 2010 who has saved more than 12000 girls from being sold to the brothels of many countries. She is respected worldwide for her great work and awareness of Human Trafficking.
I have chosen these three icons because they have done a great job in their respected arena and has set an example as well as introduced their work and their arena as popular culture. Lionel Messi who has small height has achieved a great recognition in the football world, in fact he is the largest earning player today. This has attracted almost every people to football game. People rarely miss the games on TV. In U.K and other countries people never miss a single football game on TV; it has become a popular culture over there. Likewise, Eminem’s rap songs are famous worldwide; his aggressive rap has set a trend of rap music on youngsters. Even in country like Nepal people dress up like Eminem and try performing his music and songs in his style. His struggling career is the next thing that attracts the audiences hence; as a result he has succeeded to set a unique music as well as his dressing style trend among his music lovers worldwide as a culture. Anuradha Koirala has saved 12,000 girls on her own initiative from being sold to the brothels of many countries. Her great work has been appreciated worldwide. She alone established an organization “Maiti Nepal” and started the work saving many girls from being sold. This has opened eyes of many people and organization to extend hand on social works and as a result these types of crime has gradually decreased. Her awareness program has encouraged everyone to get educated and be aware of social crimes and be independent. Today many people follow her footstep, her trend towards social movement.
There are barely some peoples who do not appraise the great work of great personalities. To me the above icons are the motivators, real life heroes and my life shapers. I am a great fan of footballer Lionel Messi, Musician Eminem and social activist Anuradha Koirala. All three of the Icons and their deeds proves to me that everything is possible if one has continuous determination and strong belief on what he is up to.

Popular Culture


Popular culture is any kind of behavior, attitudes, perspectives or the ideas adopted or respected by the peoples of a certain culture’s mainstream.  Popular culture designates cultural patterns that are wide spread among a society’s population (Macionis, 2009). A popular culture is what makes the people to reflect themselves as it is what they feel like doing and they are comfortable with it.
A popular culture can be spread worldwide or can be limited to a particular society too. It depends on how globalised is the culture through many means like internet, visual or audio media etc. Peoples are lured to the culture that is popular among them voluntarily or involuntarily in everyday life. So, it is essential to be crystal clear about the popular culture we are dealing with for any business environment to boom and sustain. By understanding the culture we can explore the preference and wants  of the people of that particular place which will help the businesses to decide what product to introduce in that arena and in what form which will obviously prove as a milestone any business to settle a good environment. Individually, as being a business student I may fortunately get a chance to work in that type of environment and in that case I will have no difficulty know environment and the culture at present or in future as well if I am well known about the culture existing in the workplace which will bring some benefits at the end of the day.


This artifact image is one of the popular search engines available on internet. I have chosen this because it is almost the most famous search engine to search almost anything anywhere. It has now become the right hand of any people in day to day activities. Even the business and firms are competing themselves to appear in the first list of the search result to increase their reach to customers. It has become the most popular culture among the people throughout the world. People surf almost anything in Google to make their life easier, it is a gateway which leads to any result expected.
